Shawn Rutledge has worked with the Traeger & Ricks law firm since 2021. He primarily practices oil and gas. After serving four years as an infantry soldier in the U.S. Army, Shawn was honorably discharged and returned to his hometown of San Antonio where he attended the University of Texas at San Antonio and graduated in 1992.  He graduated from the University of Texas School of Law and was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1996. He spent a year as an associate attorney at a large civil litigation law firm in Houston, where he drafted pleadings, pre-trial motions in state and federal trial courts, and drafted appellate briefs in various Texas courts of appeals and the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit. Since June 1997, he has provided land title examination, curative, and leasing brokerage services to oil and gas exploration and development companies throughout Texas.
